Jim Jarmusch Teams With Bill Murray Again for The Limits of Control

As a big fan of Jim Jarmuch’s last film Broken Flowers, I am thrilled to hear that he will be reteaming with Bill Murray for his next project, entitled The Limits of Control. Broken Flowers co-star Tilda Swinton is also on board, along with Gael Garcia Bernal (Babel, The Science of Sleep), French actor Jean-Francois Stevenin, and Jarmusch mainstay Isaach De Bankole (Casino Royale, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai). Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) is also rumoured to be making an appearance.

The Limits of Control is described as a road movie, set in Spain, about a “mysterious loner” (played by Bankole) who “attempts to complete a criminal job”. Sounds a bit like Ghost Dog, doesn’t it? Either way, this is a fantastic cast and an intriguing concept, and I can’t wait to hear more about it. The Limits of Control starts filming this month, and is currently slated to be released in 2009 by Focus Features.

  1. Great news. Bill Murray and Gael Garcia Bernal, both terrific actors. I especially like Garcia Bernal in “The motorcycle diaries” or in Almodovar films.
I love Jim Jarmusch’s films. I’ve recently watched “Mystery Train” and found it stunning, equally visually than into character development. I’ll have to check out “Broken Flowers” too.

  2. This is one of the most interesting casts I’ve ever heard of.

Revisited Ghost Dog recently. That is a really great movie.

  3. I love that Isaach De Bankole had a small role in MIAMI VICE. That dude is awesome.
