The Grand Trailer

As expected, the trailer for Zak Penn’s The Grand is now online over at Yahoo!, and I think it looks pretty decent. Penn is best known as a writer for comic book movies like X-Men: The Last Stand, Elektra and The Incredible Hulk, but this is the second movie he has directed himself. Much like Incident At Loch Ness, it’s another mockumentary in the vein of Christopher Guest’s films and it has a pretty interesting and varied cast. All I have to say is, Werner Herzog as “the scary german with a disturbing secret”. What’s not to like? Hilarious. Look for this instant cult classic in select theatres on March 14th.

that could be genius.
Posted by snlfarley on February 1st, 2008I still haven’t seen “Incident At Loch Ness” but this looks really funny. The scary German. Priceless!
Posted by Marina on February 1st, 2008The cast is really what has me interested here. Especially David Cross. I’ve got no interest in poker, but then again, I don’t have any interest in dog shows and I love Best In Show. I’ll most likely try to see this since there’s nothing else that I’m interested in coming out on March 14th.
Posted by Rian on February 1st, 2008Looks fantastic due to a hilarious Werner Herzog: “I have to kill something every day!”
Posted by Grammaton Cleric on February 3rd, 2008Nothing at all about this trailer is appealing to me, except for the Zak Penn/Werner Herzog involvement. No doubt that Incident at Loch Ness is one of the most interesting and hilarious films I’d seen in years, and because of this I am moderately looking forward to this film. Werner Herzog’s lines in this are indeed, fucking funny.
Posted by Henrik on February 3rd, 2008this has quite a bit of potential, inspired casting.
I think I’d need some assurance from critics to spend my money in the theater, but I would certainly see this at some point.
