Smart People Trailer Starring Ellen Page and Dennis Quaid
As the trailer states, Smart People was produced by Michael London, who also produced Sideways, and although director Alexander Payne is nowhere to be found, there does seem to be a similar vibe in this flick. Perhaps it is the fact that the movie features Thomas Haden Church in another turn as a self-absorbed smart ass (always a good thing in my books), but there is also a dysfunctional family at the center of the story, with Dennis Quaid playing a widowed father getting an unexpected visit from his adopted brother.
The interesting thing will be seeing how people respond to Ellen Page as the feisty daughter. The reviews from Sundance are already drawing some comparisons to Juno, and I would think that at this point, just about anything she’s in might attract a following. Sarah Jessica Parker also co-stars, and it is the directorial debut for Noam Murro. Either way, I’m game. Smart People hits select theatres on April 11th, take a look at the trailer below.

I’ll watch it. I thought Dennis Quaid was great in In Good Company, Thomas Haden Church is awesome, and Ellen Page was fantastic at Juno, so I’m pretty excited about this. Also I’m really glad you posted this, this is the first I’ve heard about this movie.
