New To Theatres This Weekend – Jan. 25, 2008

The big question looming for new movies in theatres this weekend is whether or not anyone can knock Cloverfield from its perch at #1. It’s looking like a race between Meet The Spartans and Rambo, although Rambo is getting hammered critically, while Meet The Spartans played it safe and did not screen for critics. Has Stallone’s luck run out? Also new this week is the high concept crime drama The Air I Breathe, yet another inspirational dance movie How She Move, and the terrible looking Diane Lane cyber-thriller Untraceable. Also in select IMAX theatres is the U2 3D concert film, which has been getting some great reviews. What’s getting your money this weekend?

  1. I think Stallone’s luck ran out 10 years ago, haha.

I’ll be watching my first bluray this weekend, and catching up on some DVDs I haven’t watched yet.

I saw 3:10 to Yuma last night, it was pretty good.

  2. 4 Months 3 Weeks & 2 Days also comes out this weekend, but in extremely limited release. I think it’s only out in New York, damn it!

  3. In all seriousness, How She Move is way better than any of its predecessors. It may not be the film for this audience but it certainly earns its merits.
