Lindsay Lohan’s I Know Who Killed Me Leads 2007 Razzie Nominations

Believe it or not, I’ve never been a big follower of The Golden Raspberry Awards (better known as The Razzies). Even though I can appreciate the humour in recognizing the worst movies of the year (and sometimes even find the humour in sitting through them), I find that they usually pick on the most obvious targets. Do we really need the Razzies to tell us that Bratz sucked?
At any rate, the 2007 nominations have just been announced, and the current frontrunner with a total of 9 nominations is the Lindsay Lohan thriller I Know Who Killed Me, followed by Norbit and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, both with 8 nods each. The following is a breakdown of the major nominees… do you think they are all deserving?

I’m with you on the obvious targets. If they had any k’jones then Transformers would be leading the pack. And where’s Mr. Brooks?
Posted by Joel on January 23rd, 2008Right on, Joel. Transformers was the only movie in the past five years I couldn’t watch all the way through.
Decades from now I Know Who Killed Me will be recognized for the psuedo-Eurotrash classic that it is.
Posted by Steven on January 23rd, 2008Kind of what you would expect, though I do like how some actors are nominated for multiple movies (Nic Cage and Jessica Alba did some real impressive work this year).
They did get it right with “I Know Who Killed Me”, however, because that film is bad in a way typical crap like Norbit and Daddy Day Whatever could never be, i.e. its deadly earnest way of handling the 4th-rate Lynchian approach to the “straight-A student vs pole-dancer”/twin storyline that was old 50 years ago is admirable.
And didn’t you guys like “Chuck & Larry”?
Posted by Snorfle on January 23rd, 2008I never saw Chuck & Larry myself, but I don’t remember what Jay and Greg thought of it. I have a hard time believing that it honestly deserves a Razzie, but hey at least they didn’t nominate Spider-Man 3.
