Like Rian Says, we had loads of rap-battle,dance and race films, and to be honest..They all did a good job at the box office..And seeing how the UFC and MMA alltogether is doing in the US,this will probably do a good job money wise too,and if you like action flicks,it might be very okay:)
Hell,it might even bring MMA to europe if it does wel in America.

I definitely see the similarities with The Karate Kid, but it’s just so “updated” with the UFC and “underground” slant that .. eh. Really doesn’t seem like there’s any actual story here. Just doesn’t have the charm like the Rian said… another good one to miss it looks like.

Dancing, rap-battling, and racing movies are a dime a dozen these days, so why not “mixed martial arts” as well? I admit that I can’t help but see the similarities to The Karate Kid, but Never Back Down just doesn’t appear to have any of the charm of that film.

Well, Djimon Hounsou was in the latest Edward Zwick film, so this is a definite step up for him.
