But because it lumps the comedies in with musicals, it's almost always the musicals that win. Atonement? Really? I still can't wrap my head around what's supposed to be so great about this movie, but then again aside from No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood, I didn't think most of the Best Picture nominees were anything special, so maybe it's a weak year. Thank god Daniel Day-Lewis and Cate Blanchett won, though, or else I would have lost what little faith I have in these awards ceremonies.
