Wonder Woman Role Not Yet Locked… Eva Green Auditioning?

Well now that 2008 has arrived, I feel I should point out that the end of the year came and went without a single official statement about the status of the upcoming Justice League of America movie. Everyone was expecting a full casting announcement back in November, and although a lot of rumoured names funneled down through the grapevine, we still have not had a single peep out of Warner Bros or director George Miller. What gives?
This week, the confusion continues to mount as more rumours are surfacing that cast doubt on pretty much all the “confirmed” casting reports we’ve heard thus far. Australian supermodel Megan Gale was supposed to have been a 100% lock for Wonder Woman, but this week we hear that French beauty Eva Green (Casino Royale, Kingdom of Heaven) was in Sydney to meet with George Miller, supposedly to discuss the possibility of playing Wonder Woman.
Green is 27 years old, which puts her in the same age group as many of the actors and actresses known to be auditioning. Could there be any merit to this story? Are they rethinking their earlier choices? I don’t know, and frankly, I don’t really care. I’m just hoping they tell us something soon and quell all this wild speculation.

Justice League is a movie that I’ll certainly see, but that I won’t be getting my metaphorical panties in a bunch for, as they say. My one thought is that they should be going with older actors and actresses for the film. Hell, for a lot of films these days if you ask me. I’m a little sick of the young, beautiful hero that seems to be the focus of every action film these days. What happened to chiseled older leading men? Think about it. If Dirty Harry had been made in 2007 he’d have probably been played by Ryan Reynolds or the Mac kid or someone. In the case of the Justice League, I just have a problem imagining a twenty-something Batman and Wonder Woman seeming cool. I dunno. Maybe it’s just me.
Posted by Rian on January 2nd, 2008I know I’m beating a dead horse and it won’t happen, but Kate Beckinsdale is th clear cut, correct choice for this role.
Having said that, I have it up to here (raising my hand over my head) with comic book, film adaptations. Blech!
Posted by Andrew James on January 2nd, 2008She would be an alright choice I suppose. I preferred Mary Elizabeth Winstead (is that her name?). I think she would have been a fantastic choice. Wasnt Justice league supposed to start shooting in February or was it June? I am still hoping the planets aline and this project gets shut down. Not that I have a lot of interest in it. I just would rather see it not made right now.
Posted by Captain N on January 2nd, 2008Model Alex Thompson should audition for Wonder Women. Standing at 5′8, with heels 6′2. She’s firey and quick wit, she has the total package the dark hair and eyes. she can pull this role off.
