The Bank Job Trailer Starring Jason Statham

A trailer for the new Jason Statham flick hit the web over the holidays, and hey guess what… it looks like every other movie the guy has done over the past 10 years! (Well, okay… it does look slightly different than John Carpenter’s Ghosts of Mars.) The Bank Job is a heist movie/crime thriller directed by Roger Donaldson (The World’s Fastest Indian, Dante’s Peak, Species, Thirteen Days, Cocktail)… wow, what a weird assortment of movies this guy has done. The one slightly interesting thing about the movie is that it is based on the true story of London bank heist that took place in the 70’s that didn’t result in a single arrest. Not too shabby.

I will say that I’m not entirely uninterested in this movie, but I think most people already know if this is something they want to see or not. Check out the trailer now and see if it strikes your fancy further. The Bank Job hits theatres in the U.K. this February, and in the U.S. on March 7th.

  1. This is something I’m absolutely not interested in. I could take Statham or leave him, but this movie just doesn’t look like a whole lot of care went into it based on the trailer. Ignoring the similar titles for a moment, The Bank Job looks tonally and conceptually a lot like the recent The Italian Job, and in my opinion that movie (and others like it) was all about flashy cars, fast-talking, and cheap thrills. Bah.

  2. Another “heist” movie? Yawn!
