If anything needs a remake is the classic series "V" from television. Seriously!

I didn't enter this contest, but I'd like to see a remake of either Leviathan or Deepstar Six. Leviathan seemed to run out of money for it's special effects by the end of the film and Deepstar Six is just not a very good film in my opinion (though I recall loving it when I was younger). The Abyss is a great film, but as far as underwater monster movies go, it's not all that scary. Beneath the sea, just as in outer space, is a prime place to set a monster movie, but in my opinion this locale has yet to be properly explored by the genre. Jaws (which isn't really beneath the ocean, but on it's surface) aside, of course.

Also, a slap to the face of whoever thinks The Thing should be remade.
