Harold Ramis to Direct Judd Apatow Biblicial Comedy Year One… Starring McLovin!
Looks like the saviour of comedy Judd Apatow is about to get into biblical comedies with an upcoming movie called Year One. After duds like Evan Almighty and The Ten, I don’t know why he thinks this is a worthwhile arena, but I suppose you can’t do much worse. Truth be told, Apatow is actually just the producer on this project; it’s more Harold Ramis’ baby, as he came up with the idea, wrote the script with Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg (The Office) and now is set direct. The cast for the flick includes a few familiar faces however, including Jack Black, Michael Cera and Christopher Mintz-Plasse… that’s right, McLovin officially has an acting career! Who’d a thunk it? I wonder if this guy is going to turn out to be the next Jon Heder. Anyway, the cast will be rounded out by Oliver Platt, David Cross, Vinnie Jones and Juno Temple, which is more than enough to sell me on it. Filming officially starts in January. The story is being kept under wraps, although we know that it takes place during biblical times. What do you think, is this going to be another Apatow-certified comedy hit?

“the saviour of comedy Judd Apatow”
Come on… The licker of fanboyballs would be a better title. I mean if your humor is relying on back to the future and other such inanity you don’t get to be called saviour of anything.
Posted by Henrik on December 6th, 2007Well it was more of a joke based on the fact that it’s a biblical comedy. Although I’m sure there are some who think he really is a saviour of comedy, at least box office-wise.
