You know, I still don’t quite understand the whole concept behind releasing these red band trailers for R-rated comedies online. If you spoil all the foul-mouthed jokes ahead of time, you take away some of the mystique, leaving people with one less reason to go see the flick! In the new trailer for Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, however, they decide to dangle something else in front of the viewer’s eyes… an “Only In Theatres” sign blocks a shot of some female private parts. Is this really how they’re selling the movie to us? I suppose back in the day, an R-rated comedy used to be the easiest way for young men to see T&A… but nowadays there is a little thing called the internet! At any rate, I have to admit, this trailer has started to win me over on the next Harold and Kumar installment. It just might be so stupid and immature that I’ll waste my time watching it. Neil Patrick Harris’ new catch phrase “jam out with your clam out” is the stuff of legend. Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay hits theatres on April 25th; check out the new trailer below.
