Bales involvement really does put into the question the quality of the script. Its not like he is hurting for work and isnt exactly an actor who is dying to do films for a large amount of money. The script is either fantastic or he isnt really doing it.

My biggest problem is, at this point in the series, does there really need to be a specific terminator out to hunt him? It seems almost pointless to slap a famous face onto a terminator at this point. They should retitle it. Start it off as a new trilogy of sorts.

Some how I have a feeling in the next couple of days we’ll be hearing that Bale has never been contacted or even seen a script for Terminator 4 and that he is just at the top on the McG wish list.

I’m developing a movie blog/forum to launch in January of next year. The long and short of it is once a week a movie is selected and only that movie is discussed. No movie news, no reviews (per se), only discussion of that film. It won’t necessarily be a new film, or a classic film, although both will be used. The only criteria is that it is a film that invites discussion.

The reason for this site in the face of the countless other message boards where anybody is free to make a post about any film, which would seem to serve the same purpose, is that once the site has an audience, limiting the discussion to a certain film will allow for a more complete discussion than random threads and sparse replies usually does.

The reason I’ll need contributors is that I want this to be done from the fan’s point of view, and so for each film I want a handful of brief essays by film-enthusiasts summarizing what there is to like or hate about this particular movie, reasonably in-depth, and those will serve as the launching point for the week’s discussion. This is not a technical discussion, and it is intended as a means to better understand these films, so it should not be presented from an insider, or industry perspective.

The discussion will be broad and not limited to the film specifically. It will be allowed to, and should, spiderweb wide to encapsulate everything the film attempts to say, or stands for.

Each week, at the end, the discussion will be archived and accessible, but no longer active. Posts selected by the moderators for being especially insightful or useful will be highlighted and put on a summary page for that week’s discussion.

I mean Terminator 3 had Arnold Schwarzenegger and it was nearly unwatchable. Even though I think Christian Bale is pretty mechanical in the way he acts and that it makes good sense for him to be a robot, there is no way I would see this movie.
