Film Junk Weekend Wrap-Up: Nov. 11, 2007
Although we have yet to grasp the full repercussions of the Hollywood writer’s strike, they’ve already been making a lot of noise and getting a lot of exposure since they went out on strike this past Monday. It may be hard for us to feel sympathy for pretty much anyone in Hollywood, but I do feel like most writers are often unsung heroes in the entertainment industry. All I know is I’m gonna be pissed if this means I get no new Lost episodes this season! Keep up to date with the strike (including YouTube videos of certain well-known scribes on the picket line) over at United Hollywood. In other news, we’ve had another wave of new remake announcements (big surprise) and a few interesting tidbits about some video game adaptations that might not suck. Any other big stories that we missed out on this week?

Lost is apparently in an OK position, with 8 episodes completely done, and the rest nearly all written, so most think there wont be much of a wait if at all between the first and second half.
Battlestar Galactica has the first half of the season completely shot and ready, and the Wire has everything done.
The Office might get affected, SNL/Colbert/Daily Show and the regular night talk shows are fucked.
Posted by Goon on November 11th, 2007I heard that the producers of Lost requested that the entire season be put on hold unless the strike ends in time to have all the episodes written.
Posted by Sean on November 11th, 2007Considering that LOST has not only been shortened from 24 episodes to 18 this season, but also pushed back to a February start date, all in an effort to run smoothly and on time, I can understand why they’d want to hold off on showing the new season until everything is ready. I’m still pissed that I’ll have to wait longer to see it, though. At least Dexter is on time and the third season shouldn’t pop up until this time next year.
Posted by Rian on November 11th, 2007If I miss any LOST I might go into coniption fits. I’ll already have waited damn near a year. I need my LOST fix soon or I’m gonna flip.
