And yes, this is an excellent hd-dvd player and the upscaling for SD-DVD is very good. If you get this player now, you can get 5 free HD-DVDs along with your purchase. If u hunt around on-line u can pick up quite a few older HD-DVD titles quite cheap & some of the new titles cost roughly the same as the DVD release. Good time 2 upgrade. How does the saying go? "Give 'me the razor and sell 'em the razor blades." If everybody buys one of these cheaper players they think they'll be saving money but the cost of your average HD-DVD hasn't gone down so in the long run this is a smart move from a business standpoint.
