No big surprise here, but reports are circulating around the web this week indicating that the Halo movie is anything but dead. According to Play, Peter Jackson’s agent Ken Kamins has revealed that Microsoft are currently in talks with other studios to help fund and distribute the film. Neill Blomkamp is still the man they want at the helm, so there may be a question of how much confidence the other parties may have in his ability to direct a blockbuster of this calibre. However, Kamins claims that the project fell apart last time not because of a dispute over Blomkamp, but rather an argument over Microsoft’s profit margins. I still stand by my previous statements that this movie will definitely happen one way or another. There’s simply too much money to be made here, and considering that the movie had already been in pre-production at WETA, it would be a shame to see all those preparations go to waste.
