So once again we find ourselves faced with another indie filmmaker trying to make a name for himself with a potentially mediocre mockumentary, but the way I see it Greg Kiefer’s Stalking Santa has two things going for it. One is the clever premise of scientifically proving the real world existence of Santa Claus… as goofy as it sounds, there are a lot of things they can do with it. That said, the second and much more important factor is the narration provided by William Shatner! His voice just seems like the perfect match for the tone of the film, and immediately piqued my interest in the project. I’d certainly rather watch this than 90% of the crappy holiday films that are released around this time of year. Stalking Santa hits DVD next Tuesday (November 6th).
