Monday Morning Box Office Report – Oct. 29th, 2007

Jigsaw is alive and well after Saw IV delivered a solid opening weekend, bringing in over $32 million — the strongest opening for a movie that we’ve seen in over two months. In second place, Steve Carell’s name attracted $12.1 million worth of ticket sales for Dan in Real Life, despite poor marketing and so-so reviews. The top 5 was rounded out by 30 Days of Night, The Game Plan and Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married?. Ben Affleck’s Gone Baby Gone made another $3.9 million, but I don’t think it’s quite the turnout he had been hoping for. So now it’s pretty much guaranteed that Saw V will be out next year, regardless of how much the film’s attendance drops off in the week after Halloween. Did you see Saw IV? How did it compare to the other Saw films?

1. Saw IV — $32.1M
2. Dan in Real Life — $12.1M
3. 30 Days of Night — $6.7M
4. The Game Plan — $6.26M
5. Why Did I Get Married? — $5.74M
6. Michael Clayton — $5.03M
7. Gone Baby Gone — $3.9M
8. The Comebacks — $3.45M
9. We Own the Night — $3.4M
10. The Nightmare Before Christmas — $3.35M
