New To Theatres This Weekend – Oct. 26, 2007

It seems that no one is interested in giving Saw IV much of a challenge this year, as 30 Days of Night is the only other horror movie in theatres right now, and Dan in Real Life is the only other major release opening this weekend. I am curious to see, however, if people are losing interest in the Saw series, especially after the poor performance of Eli Roth’s Hostel Part II. As for Dan in Real Life, you’d think a comedy starring Steve Carell might have a little more buzz leading up to its release. It could be a bad sign, although reviews have been mildly positive so far. The movie co-stars Juliette Binoche and Dane Cook. In select theatres this weekend we have Mr. Untouchable, a documentary about Harlem drug lord Nicky Barnes, and Sidney Lumet’s The Devil Knows You’re Dead (playing in only 2 theatres at the moment unfortunately).

  1. In my opinion, it’s about time for Saw to follow suit with so many other horror franchises that began to go straight to DVD after a sequel or two. Bah.
