Napoleon Dynamite: The Game Coming to Nintendo DS and Sony PSP Next Week
There have been video games based on some pretty strange movie licenses over the years, but this is definitely one I didn’t expect to see: believe it or not, Napoleon Dynamite is coming to a handheld console near you next week. Maybe this is old news but I hadn’t heard about it when it was initially announced, so when I saw it on an upcoming release calendar I thought it was a joke. Can they really make a video game out of this movie? And isn’t it a little late? Well apparently they are going to try. Crave Entertainment are developing the title for the Nintendo DS and Sony PSP, and it will feature a number of mini-games based on events in the movies: stuff like feeding the llama with Tina, throwing a football with Uncle Rico, bow hunting Wolverines in Alaska, tetherball, and of course, dancing. Sure these sound like amusing ideas for five-minute Flash games, but I don’t know if anyone would actually pay money for this! Jared Hess’ Nacho Libre also spawned a Nintendo DS game that came out around this time last year.
