Timecop Remake In The Works
The most successful movie of Jean-Claude Van Damme’s career was, if I’m not mistaken, Timecop, which made $44 million in the U.S. and over $100 million worldwide. It spawned a short-lived TV series and a direct to DVD sequel, never to be heard from again… until now that is. In an interview with IESB, Mike Richardson, writer and creator of the comic book series, confirmed reports that he has been talking to Universal about producing a new Timecop movie. Although Richardson did not reveal the nature of this film, IESB sort of made the assumption that it would be a remake. However, he did apparently reveal that there is a big name actor interested, who they promise is “100% bad ass and one of the coolest action stars of today”. (No, Van Damme will not be reprising his role as Max Walker.) Fun fact: Did you know that Sam Raimi produced the original Timecop? Hey, maybe they can bring him in to direct the new one. Either way, I’m down for any movie that involves time travel, and I don’t think a remake like this would ruffle too many feathers, would it?

While I like the original Timecop film, I could stand to see a remake so long as they leave the original Universal Soldier alone. Van Damme versus Lundgren? How can you top that?
