David Hasselhoff to Star in Anaconda 3 and 4

As an interesting addendum to yesterday’s news story about the competing Knight Rider movie and TV series, here’s an update on what former Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff is doing with his stellar career. It turns out that he will be starring in not one but two sequels to the 1997 giant snake flick Anaconda! The movie will have a completely different cast from the first film or its sequel Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid; joining the Hoff will be Crystal Allen, John Rhys Davies and Zoltan Butuc. Hasselhoff plays a mercenary who is hired to capture a massive snake that may be able to help cure a terminal illness. Both pics will premiere on The Sci-Fi Channel before going direct to DVD, and will be directed by Don E. FauntLeRoy, who previously did Stan Lee’s Lightspeed for the network. Obviously these are going to be hilarious b-movies in their own right, but I have to wonder why I would watch them when I could simply watch Animal Planet’s new show Austin Stevens: Snakemaster instead!
