Monday Morning Box Office Report: Oct. 8, 2007
Well it seems no one could break the headlock that The Rock had on the box office from last week, as his family comedy The Game Plan pulled in another $16 million. Ben Stiller’s new comedy The Heartbreak Kid was the closest competition with a $14 million opening, followed by repeat appearances of The Kingdom and Resident Evil: Extinction. The Seeker: The Dark is Rising had a predictably disappointing weekend, earning just $3.73 million. Where did all those Harry Potter and Narnia fans go?
1. The Game Plan — $16.3M
2. The Heartbreak Kid — $14M
3. The Kingdom — $9.34M
4. Resident Evil: Extinction — $4.3M
5. The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising — $3.73M
6. Good Luck Chuck — $3.5M
7. Feel the Noise — $3.4M
8. 3:10 to Yuma — $3.04M
9. The Brave One — $2.26M
10. Mr. Woodcock — $2.02M

When was the last time a Ben Stiller-starring movie didn’t debut at no. 1?

They probably went to watch a movie they gave a damn about as opposed to that uninspired drivel.
