Hey Guys. Glad you liked the show, and the film selections. I don’t think we will always pick films that we ‘love’ (in fact, when I picked Ghost Dog, I had yet to actually see it!) Little Children on the other hand was well loved by all four of us, so yea, lots of praising going on. That’s good though, the film deserves and needs a boost.

Anyway, I think I’m the only one who has seen the ‘full version’ of Fist Full of Dynamite known as DUCK YOU SUCKER, and I’m expecting some dissent amongst the ‘club’ so it should make for some interesting conversation.

As for GIMME SHELTER, the stones are almost besides the point here, the Doc is much more about the bad hang-over (WRIT LARGE) that remained after the summer of Love and all that. The near-boiling anger and rage by the crowd can only be likened to when you are in a bar and somehow everyone knows that a big fist-fight is imminent. Should be a good discussion, as for a Doc. GIMME SHELTER is quite cinematic!

Well Metallica fucking rules and Enter Sandman can kick Gimme Shelter’s ass anyday.

There is a concert in Gimme Shelter and I think you’ll enjoy what they do with that.

good. i hope so. i mean, i dont HATE the stones, i just dont want to watch just concert footage, knowhutimean? i want it to be a lot more than that…
for the record though, i probably am a bigger (though not BIG) metallica fan and know more about their personal history, which im sure helped my enjoyment of SKOM

Rian: Kurt and Andrew apparently do their own podcast using Yahoo Messenger Chat instead of Skype and they find it works a lot better. We may have to try that next time.

This was a pleasant surprise. I’m looking forward to the next episode, and plan to bump Duck, You Sucker to the top of my Netflix so I’ll have a better understanding of at least one film you’ll be reviewing (I’ve yet to see either Ghost Dog or Little Children, though they are both on my queue).

My only real complaint is that one of your correspondents kept cutting out in the middle of his sentences. I know this is Skype’s fault and not your own, but it’s really all I can think of to complain about. Good work, fellas.

Kurt and Andrew on Cinecast already pretty much do this kind of review when they don’t care about mentioning spoilers. I especially loved their Grindhouse review where they talked about it for 90minutes.

Technically, skype worked as well as you can make it I guess. Hopefully you guys occassionally pick movies that are on either film junk or movie patron’s top 100 films. I’d love to hear you guys talk about a Scorsese film such as Taxi Driver. Maybe some contemporary classic french films like La Haine.

I, on the other hand, HAVE listened and I think it’s a good idea. A little heavy on the praising, but I guess the point is to select movies you like? Calling them perfect may be pushing it a bit though. But I guess if you consider ‘perfect’ to be ‘on the same level as Chasing Amy’, I can understand.

What’s with not getting the joke about writing affairs though? Lighten up!
