The Fast and the Furious 4… Starring Vin Diesel and Paul Walker?
It was The Fast and the Furious that launched Vin Diesel and Paul Walker to semi-stardom: that over the top manly man’s movie about underground street racing and living life a quarter mile at a time. Paul Walker returned for the sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious, but after that it looked like neither would ever look back… until Vin Diesel popped up in a cameo in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, that is. Now it appears that the two are in negotiations to star in the 4th yet-to-be-titled installment of the series, with Justin Lin and Chris Morgan returning to write and direct. Is anyone surprised? Well, maybe just a little bit.
The truth is, Vin Diesel’s career has been sputtering ever since The Pacifier in 2005 and Find Me Guilty in 2006. You’d think that starring in a Sidney Lumet film would be a huge boost to one’s career, but for Vin Diesel it just seemed to confuse people. Perhaps audiences prefer to see him as an action star and nothing more. What’s more, he’s been trying to get himself in the director’s chair for the historical epic Hannibal the Conqueror for some time now, but the project seems to be stalled for some reason. At any rate, the guy’s gotta keep working, and I suppose there are worse things for his career than doing another Fast and the Furious film. It just seems like an unfortunate admission that he’s not getting offered anything else right now. As for Paul Walker, well I guess it’s questionable whether his career really took off in the first place. What I’m wondering is, for people who are fans of this franchise, is this good news? Either way it should bring in more people than the last film did, but should they have just left it alone after the 3rd film?

I loved the first one, the second was ok, I didnt even watch the third and have no interest in a fourth… however if Vin Diesel is involved I may be easily sold into at least watching it at a cheep theatre. I haven’t seen any of his, shall I say, family films but I loved xXx, Chronicles of Riddik and The Fast and the Furious.

Posted by Juan on October 4th, 2007WHY!? So we can see more BS! If they would have put younger stars in their positions and had Walker and Deisel as crime bosses or enemies using the younger drivers, that would have been better. And ya I know the import scene is hot right now but atleast put the REAL cars back in the spotlight! No more wheely’s on the street! ANYONE who beleived that load a CRAP needs a slap upside the head! Ohnestly, the big money spenders ON THE STREET show up with big block FORDS<CHEV’SAND DODGES…NOT anything else! Give the fans what they want! REAL true to life action and NO BS!
Posted by jason Melville on November 24th, 2007OBVIOUSLY jason know jack about cars….muscle cars are good for HP…but the way tuner cars are coming american muscle will be a thing of the past….the only real deal… i love all cars import/exotic/muscle but your opinion is very narrow n one-sided so go read an import tuner mag n you’ll see that tuner pros put their money where there mouth are….n put more money into a light weight tuner with HP than a muscle car…the only thing that was goofy was that Nismo-Mustang in Tokoyo drift…that was farfetched garbage…other than that…get it right…n stop hating on the import scene

Posted by Momo on March 12th, 2008WHATEVER!! I’ve been around the racing scene for many years and one thing has always stayed the same…there is no substitute for cubic inches. Yes I have seen tuner cars run and do watch Nopi on TV now and then but it pains me to see that the tuner guys through so much money at there rides. They are very smart to get these cars down in the 6’s. Imagaine what they could do with more cubes! And I will admit to being biased towards American muscle over any import(japan, british, german etc). I never said I hate imports, I just don’t give a shit about little fricken engines that need a really healthy dose of turbos, nitrous oxide or other power adders to run fast. Your choice is yours, just remember to keep you asumptions to yourself…….
