i'm kind of lukewarm about Heroes as well. i dont think its a bad show by any means, and will probably watch it on TV this season, but I dont get why its become so popular. some of the characters are flat out lame - its really Hiro and his friend that carry the show. The first season started slow, then hit an admittedly great stride, but then petered out at the end with a finale that was very unsatisfying, not delivering what it promised.

I really am intrigued to see how it can carry itself through future seasons. I am cynical that it will manage to hold its fanbase.

If I was going to compare Heroes to anything, it would be American Chopper.

I'm feeling the same way. I've been trying to get through the first season, and it's going very slowly. Although I don't hate the show, it just haven't been caught up in it like some others. (Lost, Enterprise, American Chopper).

I watched the first eight or nine episodes of Heroes and it just couldn't keep my interest. I'm surprised by this because I'm a huge comic book reader and trying to break into the business, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. There were some neat things in the show, such as the origin of the villain, which I thought was really interesting, but overall I found it pretty bland.

It sounds like a launching pad for too many minor character spin-off shows.

Good question. I think this is supposed to be a way for them to introduce new heroes, but also focus on some of the existing ones. I would imagine they'll want to stay away from a lot of the main characters though, so as not to spoil things going on in the main series.

I have no interest in Heroes, I watched two episodes and it was the same melodramatic bullshit, starring the girl from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and the fat guy from Hollow Man.

HOWEVER, that being said, I think this concept is a cool one. But I am confused as to wether these are origin stories the heroes on Heroes (who had some rather lame powers) or completely original ones? If it's just origin stories for different original heroes, I think it has a ton of potential to be a cool show, albeit short-lived. I would check it out with enthusiasm then.
