Leave Britney Alone Guy Chris Crocker Gets His Own TV Show

Lest anyone doubt the power of YouTube in this day and age, it looks like Chris Crocker, the man behind the wildly popular “Leave Britney Alone!” video, may have just scored his first TV deal. 44 Blue Productions, a documentary and reality television house, have inked a deal to produce a “docusoap” that revolves around the 19-year-old Crocker, who lives with his grandparents in Tennessee. Although it may sound like the deal happened pretty fast, the truth is, it has probably been in the works for some time now. Crocker had already built up a fanbase over on MySpace with a series of similar videos, and a post on his MySpace blog from back in March hints about the possibilities of a TV show.

“It’s going to pretty much be the ‘Chris Crocker experience’… We consider him a rebel character that people will find interesting. He’s going to be a TV star,” said 44 Blue co-founder Rasha Drachkovitch. So is this all it takes to make a name for yourself in showbiz nowadays? Apparently so. But as much as it sounds like he is destined to be a one hit wonder, maybe he does actually have the creativity and comedic talent to create a variety show of his own. According to Crocker, “I’m doing everything from skits with elderly women– to music sequences featuring original Crocker songs/raps, which I KNOW you will get a kick out of. they’re true to Crocker humor, that’s for sure.” Stay tuned for more on this as it develops.
