Spectacular Spider-Man New Animated Series Trailer

The trailer for the WB’s new Spectacular Spider-Man animated series has hit the web, and I figured a few people out there might be interested in seeing it. I wasn’t really a big fan of the last Spider-Man cartoon that was produced by MTV, and this one looks even less appealing to me. They’ve obviously created it with the intention of skewing to a younger crowd; the animation style reminds me of Teen Titans and it focuses on a much younger Peter Parker than we’re used to seeing — a 16 year old high school student to be exact. Josh Keaton will voice Spidey… I think I liked Neil Patrick Harris better! Spectacular Spider-Man is slated to premiere in March 2008; check out the trailer below.

  1. Well, the animation looks pretty good, and I like the designs by Sean “Cheeks” Galloway. This isn’t something I’ll go out of my way to watch, but I might catch an episode online or something if the opportunity arises.

  2. Uggh. Snarky/annoying/smug voice acting ruins some otherwise pop’n animation work.

  3. meh. I’m not gonna watch it. If they got Bendis behind the project it would be ten times better and not be such a smug piece of shit.

  4. any thing has to be better than the dread that mtv had a few years back that spiderman cartoon was just bad,I wouldnt mind a new transformers cartoon a new g1 show would be cool but probly not gonna happen.
