Flight of the Conchords SXSW Documentary: A Texan Odyssey
If you’ve got Flight of the Conchords fever like I do, then you may be interested in seeing this 45 minute documentary that previously aired on New Zealand’s Channel 3. The program follows Bret and Jermaine as they perform at last year’s SXSW festival in Austin, Texas (thus the title Flight of the Conchords: A Texan Odyssey), and contrary to what you might think, it’s a pretty professional production. Some elements of the documentary are even more funny than the Flight of the Conchords TV series, in particular their spot-on narration voices, and makes me think their show would have been that much better if it was done with a mockumentary style. But then again, everyone’s doing that nowadays, aren’t they? You can watch the whole thing on Google Video below. For another Flight of the Conchords fix, check out their HBO One Night Stand special, viewable in its entirety on MySpace.

cant wait to watch this later
i gotta say though, they’re much funnier in the context of the show than in their live musical performances. as much as i like the songs, 9 times out of 10 its the rest of the material in the show that really keeps me watching. especially Murray, who might actually be the funniest of all of them.
Posted by Goon on August 29th, 2007Agreed. Although on the plus side, I do actually like their songs, which is more than I can say for certain other comedy bands.
