The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe to Star Feldman, Haim… and Sutherland?
Earlier in the year when we first heard about a direct to DVD sequel to Joel Schumacher’s The Lost Boys, it sounded like it would have nothing to do with any of the original characters, and would not involve the original cast. Fortunately, it appears that may not be the case anymore. Could it be that Warner Bros heard the complaints of fans around the world, and actually listened? It’s probably more likely that the original rumour, which involved “surfing vampires” was never true. Whatever the case, there is a new rumour gaining steam this week that says both Corey Haim and Corey Feldman will star in the film, along with Jamison Newlander… meaning the original Frog Bros are back baby!
It would just seem to make good sense to have both Coreys involved in the film… it’s not like they’re above it, and they’ve actually got a new reality show that could help cross-promote the movie. Word on the street is that there is also a Sutherland involved in the film — unfortunately it’s not Kiefer. Instead, his half-brother Angus Sutherland will star as a vampire in this one. Hey! Now that’s just playing dirty pool! At any rate, the return of the Frog Bros will probably be enough to please fans of the original, although I’m pretty sure the sequel is still going direct to DVD. The movie starts filming this month, with P.J. Pesce (From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman’s Daughter) at the helm .

thats kinda cool. I grew up watching Feldman so it’d be nice to see him working again instead of hanging out in his yard smoking pot, which ironically, is what i do.
Posted by Daniel on August 13th, 2007I’ve actually been watching the train wreck that is “The Two Coreys” and they have a whole episode all about Corey Haim trying to get a Lost Boys 2 off the ground. Feldman has to explain to him that they were making a direct-to-DVD sequel, they asked Feldman to do it, and he said no. He also said they weren’t interested in Haim.
Looks like things have changed a bit since then!
Also, on a side note, if you’re not watching The Two Coreys you NEED to do so. It’s the most scripted show on television, despite being pitched as reality.
How’s this for reality? The show supposedly takes place in Feldman’s posh Beverly Hills home, but every time they’re out and about you see a Petro-Canada in the background and there’s a Government of Canada Film Tax Credit thing in the credits. It’s just too much.
Posted by Jim Squires on August 13th, 2007being a HUGE Lost Boys fan, i am actually not really looking forward to a sequel, its been 20 years already so i think that they should just leave the movie alone. i think that a sequel, prequel or a remake of this movie will definitely hurt its cult status.
Posted by Chopper on August 13th, 2007and on a side note, i really like the 2 Coreys show, its funny as shit.
so i hope that the coreys will do another flick together, not lost boys 2 though, please.
