I guess. For my money of the big 3, Voltron is the one I'm actually looking forward to. I mean robeasts and giant robot lions and that kickass castle. It'd be something to see. I don't know what GI Joe would be like in the current political climate?

One thing about Sommers though is that he writes his own scripts, so I don't think you should expect anything different from what he's been doing.

I think Michael Bay would have been better suited for a G.I. Joe movie than he was for Transformers, what with his military fetish and all.

As for Sommers, I don't deny that he could bring a fun sense of adventure to the movie, but in general I don't care much for his style (if you can call it that). I guess a lot depends on the script. I wonder if any truly big names would consider touching a G.I. Joe movie... after all, Spielberg and Bay are pretty huge in comparison to Stephen Sommers.

I don't really care about G.I. Joe, but I don't think Stephen Sommers is as bad as you're making him out to be.

Deep Rising is pretty kickass I think. To-the-point 'aliens-meets-poseidon'-action with cool weaponry. Have you seen it? If not, then you should it's a really good action movie.

I also like The Mummy Returns alot. The sheer amount of glossy visual effects constantly on screen, massive everything, I find really entertaining. Rachel Weisz is a good actress too. Another really good, fun actionmovie that I have found to deliver whenever I've seen it, which is like 4 times now.

I really liked Van Helsing when I saw it in the theatre, but I admit it's not very strong on second viewing... Again though, can't argue with the effects work. The action just seems pretty stale with alot of swinging about and such. Kate Beckinsale is no Rachel Weisz (nor Famke Janssen) either.

Definitely like Sommers more than Bay. I have a feeling his take on something like this will be less serious and more fun. And his action is better.
