2007 Toronto Film Festival Midnight Madness and Special Presentations Line-Up Announced

The Toronto International Film Festival takes place every September, which really is a great time to have a film festival because it marks the end of summer blockbuster season and the start of Oscar season. I’ve been patiently awaiting the line-up for this year’s fest in the hopes that I might be able to catch one or two of the many films that I am looking forward to in the latter part of 2007. The full listing won’t be available until August 21st, but the organizers have already started issuing press releases that reveal some of this year’s films. Here are some of the films confirmed so far:

  1. I’ve never been (even though I lived in Toronto for 4 years), but I think I’m gonna try to go this year.

    The films that catch my interest are the Coen Bros. film, Cronenberg’s newest work and the George Romero and Dario Argento horrors.

    Haven’t checked the documentary lineup yet.

  2. I am planning the trip to Toronto this year. I heard throught the grapvine that “The Stone Angel” was going to premiere at TIFF.

    The Stone Angel based on the novel by Margaret Laurence starring Ellen Burstyn, Kevin Zegers, Ellen Page, Dylan Baker. Directed by Kari Skogland.

    Anyone else here this? I wish I could find out if Ellen Burstyn plans on attending the premiere. I desparately need to get a script in her hands!
