New To Theatres This Weekend – July 27, 2007
There are a handful of new movies opening this weekend, but the only one that most people care about is The Simpsons Movie. So far reviews appear very positive… hey, maybe it won’t be too little too late after all! Also in theatres we have the Lindsay Lohan thriller I Know Who Killed Me, the romantic comedy No Reservations, and the golf comedy Who’s Your Caddy? As always, the movies playing in the least number of theatres seem the most interesting, with Werner Herzog’s Rescue Dawn, Danny Boyle’s Sunshine, and Kasi Lemmons’ Talk To Me all expanding further, but still relegated to 500 theatres or less. At any rate, let The Simpsons Movie discussion start now!
I Know Who Killed Me
No Reservations
Rescue Dawn (expanding)
The Simpsons Movie
Sunshine (expanding)
Talk To Me (limited)
Who’s Your Caddy?

I’m actually excited for The Simpsons movie. Futurama is my cartoon of choice but this film does look funny. I don’t expect it to be anything more than a long episode that uses the 3D/2D like Futurama. Entertainment is all I’m looking for.
And I’m glad there aren’t any ‘we can use cursing’ gimmicks, it worked very well for South Park but I don’t think it would suit the Simpsons.
Posted by Matt on July 27th, 2007also saw Rescue Dawn, which I really enjoyed. the ending is off putting even though thats what actually happened. Maybe Bale’s best performance.
Posted by Goon on July 27th, 2007Being from Montreal, Quebec. We get the full Simpsons experience. The french version cast of the show is doing all sorts of promo and the hype is at its top for me. I plan on going to see the movie in both languages
