Drillbit Taylor Trailer Starring Owen Wilson
Some people love Owen Wilson, and some people think he’s just not funny. I think the latter group need their head examined. Oh sure, he’s starred in a few stinkers, but more often than not, Wilson can pull comedy gold out of just about any situation. Drillbit Taylor is, if you can believe it, yet another comedy that Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen have had their hands in (Apatow produced, while Rogen co-wrote the screenplay) and it stars Wilson as a “low budget bodyguard” that three nerdy school kids hire to protect them from bullies. It already sounds funny, right? The trailer definitely had me amused (Best line: “My native tongue!”), and I can even forgive them for stealing a joke from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (let’s call it an “homage”, shall we?). Drillbit Taylor doesn’t hit theatres until March 21st, 2008 but I just added it to my must-see list.

Lo Fidelity Allstars on the trailer like it’s doing a parody of a later 90’s action movie. This one looks like it’ll have the 5-11 funny moments that are needed to make it a decent comedy. Apatow and Rogen (who sounds just like Greg) are bringing some funny for sure but I think they should pace themselves or suffer a backlash.
