This Week on DVD – July 24, 2007
It seems like we haven’t had a solid DVD release day in a while, but today just might qualify. In certain circles, the biggest release this week is by far the 80’s cult classic The Monster Squad, which has been long overdue. Also in stores we have the critically acclaimed Korean monster movie The Host, Tom Tykwer’s Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, and Joel Schumacher’s The Number 23 starring Jim Carrey. And don’t forget to snag Weeds: Season 2 if you haven’t already seen it… Season 3 premieres on August 13th.

no stores seemed to have gotten any copies of Harvey Birdman yet.
The Host packaging looks better than what I thought they’d do with it.
I heard Renaissance has a good story but was too style over substance.

Posted by Sean on July 24th, 2007I picked up Monster Squad from HMV. It’s not as cheap as Best Buy, but it’s a part of the 2/30 deal, so it works out if you can find something else to go with it, which of course, I did.

Posted by Greg on July 24th, 2007Maaaaaaaaaan, I went to the St. Catharines video stores and didn’t find the Hard Boiled 2 Disc DVD set. I asked and the people at the store that shall remain nameless said they will be in on August 7th. Waddup with that? It’s available on Amazon though
