Michael Dougherty’s Trick ‘r Treat Trailer Starring Anna Paquin
A creepy trailer has arrived online for the upcoming horror flick Trick ‘r Treat, written and directed by Michael Dougherty (screenwriter of X2, Superman Returns and Urban Legends: Bloody Mary). This is Dougherty’s directorial debut, with Bryan Singer producing, and although we don’t get a sense of the full story from the trailer, it’s clear that everything revolves around Halloween. I think the movie has potential; it certainly seems to be more of an old school slasher flick than a new school teen horror film (and it’s certainly not torture porn), but I think the music is really what sold me on it. It could turn goofy if not handled properly, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. (They did rip off the Little Red Riding Hood motif from Hard Candy though.) Trick ‘r Treat stars Anna Paquin, Dylan Baker, Brian Cox and Leslie Bibb; it hits theatres sometime in October. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.

Actually, the film makers of Hard Candy indicated the red hoody was *not* an actual Little Red Riding Hood reference or homage… it just turned out that way when the poster was created. They were surprised when everyone picked up on the unintentional visual.
