Seth Rogen to Write and Star in The Green Hornet
Just when you thought Seth Rogen’s career couldn’t possibly gain any more momentum, it seems he is working on a pretty huge deal over at Columbia Pictures. He and his writing partner Evan Goldberg are in final negotiations to write and produce a Green Hornet movie, with Rogen himself also attached to star. The movie is expected to draw from the popular radio serials, comic books and the 60’s TV series that starred Bruce Lee as Kato. In some ways Rogen is picking up where Kevin Smith left off when he turned down the opportunity to write and direct this project for Miramax a few years ago. What an amazing opportunity. The big question on everyone’s mind, I’m sure, is whether or not this will be a comedy or spoof in some way, and so far all they’ve revealed is that the movie will be “in the tradition of the Green Hornet”. To be honest I can’t see Rogen doing any extreme action scenes, but I guess that’s why they’ll recruit some popular martial arts star to play Kato. Tony Jaa maybe?? At any rate, I think The Green Hornet just became the new fanboy film to watch.
