Get Smart Teaser Trailer Starring Steve Carell
I’ve been waiting with guarded optimism to catch our first glimpse of the upcoming Get Smart movie. I am a big fan of the original 60’s series, and although I do worry about them trying to modernize it too much, they have one major ace up their sleeve: Steve Carell. He is the absolute perfect person to give a new twist on Maxwell Smart aka Agent 86, who was played on the TV series by the late Don Adams. The first teaser trailer has hit the web, and within the first 30 seconds, I knew that Carell had already nailed it. Whether or not the supporting cast will keep up their end of the bargain remains to be seen, but I am officially excited about this flick. It will be great to see him rebound from the pitiful Evan Almighty. Get Smart is directed by Peter Segal (Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult, The Longest Yard). It is slated to be released on June 20th, 2008; check out the teaser trailer over at MSN now.

I am a huge fan of the original series, I have every season on DVD. This teaser trailer looks “ok” it will turn out amazing and become a new long running franchise, or it will bomb completely.
