Anthony Michael Hall is The Riddler?
It’s been a while since we had any far out fanboy casting rumours to scoff at, so I thought I would bring this one up, although I certainly do remind you that it’s far from being confirmed at this point. A while back we heard that Anthony Michael Hall (The Dead Zone) had been cast in the upcoming Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight. At the time, no one really knew what part he would play, except to say that he would be a criminal. Now there are reports coming out stating that Hall is actually playing Edward Nygma in the film, better known as The Riddler. Of course, this is going to get everyone freaking out and worrying that The Dark Knight will turn into another Spider-Man 3 fiasco with too many villains involved (in case you haven’t been keeping track, we now Two-Face, The Joker and The Riddler, which makes three). But when you think about it, didn’t Batman Begins basically have three villains too? I’m not all that worried. I have a feeling that if Edward Nygma is in The Dark Knight, he’ll probably just have a stock appearance to set up his character for the next film. I will say that Anthony Michael Hall could make a great Riddler though… he actually looks a bit like Frank Gorshin from the 60’s Batman series. Thoughts?

Might work he does resemble Gorshin. OR they could take a bit of a depature and get like Hugh Lurie. I’d pay money to see House vs. Bats.
Posted by Ian on July 9th, 2007If you didn’t include that crime boss, Falcone as a villain, then Batman Begins only had two villains and handled them both well. I’m pretty sure Two -Face won’t appear in The Dark Knight as they’re only introducing Harvey Dent as the new D.A. and probably setting things up for Two-Face for a third film.
Posted by Nuno on July 9th, 2007riddler better not be an over the top character like jim carrey’s riddler. he should be reserved like in B:TAS that was a good show. i think they should introduce hugo strange in the film rather than nygma, though
Posted by Joey on July 10th, 2007Anthony Michael Hall. Meh. Might be good might be terrible. I don’t think it will happen though. But Scarecrow might make a comeback though, seeing as he didn’t die in the last movie and his future in Gotham is uncertain. If he did then that would make it three villians again. From what the previews show, Dent’s face will very likely be disfigured in this film which means … . The Batman franchise is very lucky in that it has the coolest and most iconic villians in comic book, movie, or tv history. There is Scarecrow, Catwoman, The Penguin, Two-Face, The Riddler, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, and of course the Joker just to name a prominent few. Dr. Doom and Lex Luthor, just can’t compete with that.

AMH should be the Riddler in the NEXT Dark Knight!!
