Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead Trailer Starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke
Philip Seymour Hoffman is one of those guys that I can watch in just about any role and be absolutely transfixed… of course, when he’s playing a despicable pedophile or icky drug addict it only makes it that much better. Sidney Lumet’s latest film Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead finds Hoffman playing a guy who’s down on his luck and in need of cash… so he turns to his brother to pull off a robbery of their own parents’ jewelry store! How’s that for despicable? When the plan goes horribly wrong, and they find themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place. The movie co-stars Ethan Hawke, Albert Finney and Marisa Tomei, and I found the 4-minute trailer absolutely rivetting. I wouldn’t expect any less from the man who brought us Dog Day Afternoon. The movie is scheduled to be released on September 26th in France… the North American release date is still TBA. (P.S. It’s an international trailer with French subtitles and it’s NSFW… there are some boobs.)

This looks like an interesting watch. Reminds me a little of A Simple Plan. Almost like a comedy of errors without the comedy. Or perhaps a dark comedy of errors. I’ll give it a shot.
