Sam Raimi Wants the Sinister Six in Spider-Man 4

Well despite unforgiving critical reviews and endless fits of fanboy whining, Spider-Man 3 has still managed to pull in almost $900 million so far. And you know what? That’s a lot of money. Although Sam Raimi has been somewhat undecided on the subject of a fourth film, that hasn’t stopped him from pondering what he’d like to see in the franchise’s next installment. In a recent interview with MTV, Raimi surprisingly revealed that he would be interested in increasing the number of villains to six next time around… specifically, The Sinister Six. (For the uneducated like myself, this team of villains includes Doc Ock, The Vulture, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, Mysterio and Sandman.)

I have to admit, I’m surprised about this because Raimi himself was making excuses for Spider-Man 3 based on the overabundance of villains, and lack of screen time to develop them. On the one hand, Doc Ock and Sandman have already been introduced, and it would be kind of neat to see a supervillain team in a feature film. On the other hand, we all know this brings us one step closer to Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin. In the end, I think I’d be okay with it as long as Larry David plays The Vulture. But hey, what do I know? I actually liked Spider-Man 3! What do you think, is this a good idea? And do you want to see Raimi do Spider-Man 4?

  1. But didn’t doc ock kill himself to stop the destruction of the world in nr 2? I certanly remember him gaining control of his arms and jumping in to the water with his thingamabob..
And from what we saw of the sandman in nr 3.. he kinda went of the screen as just a misunderstood smalltime criminal. The guy isn’t all that threatening, just missguided! Hope that they dont make another movie just for the money..Kinda hoping they stop before they taint the spiderman universe..

  2. LARRY DAVID!! LMAO!!

I don’t really want anymore, only because I really like Sam Raimi. I’d like to see what else he would do.

  3. Tim Allen as Kraven?

Seeing as Spider-Man 3 ruled, Doc Ock ruled and Sandman ruled, I don’t see how this couldn’t be done.

The picture is of the revised Sinister Six though. During Erik Larsens (best doc ock ever) stint Kraven wasn’t in it and Hobgoblin took his place.

  4. I’d prefer for Raimi to do Spiderman 4, but I could deal with someone else. I Would prefer not to have so many villains in one film, but it could be cool. I guess I’m officially on the fence.

  5. By the bye, if you want someone to play The Vulture, put Jim Carrey back in his make-up from Lemony Snicket. The first time I saw the trailer for that movie I had no idea it was Carrey and I immediately said to whoever was in the room: “That guy should play The Vulture in a Spiderman movie!”
