Wes Craven Sues Pauly Shore
Ahh… Hollywood… home of the American Dream. Sometimes we get caught up in the romanticized images of the city and we forget that Hollywood is as cutthroat a place as any, and that celebrities get in just as many quarrels as we common folk do (probably even more). This strange little news story just jumped out at me today and I could not resist posting. Apparently director Wes Craven (Scream, A Nightmare on Elm Street) has a neighbour by the name of Pauly Shore, and now he’s taking him to court over an absolutely mundane and domestic dispute. Craven claims that Shore recently upgraded his home with a pool, spa, and new landscaping, which caused a landslide on Craven’s property and caused water to seep down and destabilize his land. On the one hand, I do feel for the guy… I mean, his neighbour is Pauly Shore. On the other hand, this kind of silliness makes me think someone should come up with a new reality show: Hollywood Court TV. How great would that be? Or better yet, a reality show that just focuses on Wes Craven and his daily dealings with Pauly Shore specifically. It could be better than The Osbournes.
On a related note, did anyone catch this week’s episode of On The Lot? Did Wes Craven not seem like the guest host who has least wanted to be there thus far? Upon being asked for advice for the contestants when making horror films, he replied quite smugly, “Make it scary”. Zing!

Why is this silliness? Do you own a house? If someone did this and messed up your yard, what would you do? I don’t know if Pauly Shore has refused to pay to make repairs, but if he won’t make the repairs, what can Craven do?
