Monday Morning Box Office Report: June 11, 2007
Well, sometimes you can’t argue with star power, and that’s one thing Ocean’s Thirteen has in spades as George Clooney and his posse cashed in with a sweet $37 million weekend and a number one spot at the box office. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End and Knocked Up continue to do strong business as well, while the CG surfing penguin movie Surf’s Up performed below expectations with only $18 million (there’s plenty of family film competition out there right now) and Hostel: Part II didn’t even crack the top 5 with only $8.75 million. Maybe they should have had Tarantino out doing the talk show circuit to promote it again! Personally I can’t believe Disturbia is still hanging in the top 10.
1. Ocean’s Thirteen — $37.1M
2. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End — $21.3M
3. Knocked Up — $20M
4. Surf’s Up — $18M
5. Shrek the Third — $15.8M
6. Hostel: Part II — $8.75M
7. Mr. Brooks — $5M
8. Spider-Man 3 — $4.4M
9. Waitress — $1.65M
10. Disturbia — $550K
