By the way, Speed Racer’s Mach 5 can be seen at the Peterson Car Museum in Los Angeles, CA, and it’s very similar (if not the same) to the one pictured here.

I’m very interested in what’s going on with this movie, as I wrote an outline for Speed Racer to come to the big screen in 1992 and was pitching it around to see if it peeked any interest. I was a radio/television production college student in San Diego then, and I’m wondering if someone picked up my idea.

I’ve never seen an episode of Speed Racer in my life, but John Goodman as Pops and Matthew Fox as Racer X are reason enough for me to see it. Also, I’m excited to see the first film directed by the Wachowskis since The Matrix trilogy.

I want to be excited. I love the Wachowski Brothers. I just don’t see what they see, as far as making Speed Racer a movie. A trailer will hopefully change my mind.
