Terminator TV Show: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Trailer Online
This past week we’ve been getting a lot of glimpses at upcoming TV shows for next season coming from the various network upfront presentations, and now a trailer has appeared on YouTube for Fox’s The Sarah Connor Chronicles, a continuation of The Terminator franchise. I have to admit, I haven’t been particularly eager to see this franchise disintegrate into another low-budget sci-fi reject stretched far beyond its limit, but after watching the trailer, I actually don’t think it looks that bad. Casting Thomas Dekker (Heroes) as John Connor does give an immediate Smallville feel to the proceedings, and ironically enough, David Nutter is directing the pilot, the same guy who directed the Smallville pilot. However, I didn’t know that Summer Glau (Firefly) had a major role in the show, and she seems to fit well, while also bringing a bit of geek cred. The effects look decent, and the only thing I’m unsure about is the guy who is actually playing the Terminator. Check out the trailer below and see what you think. The Sarah Connor Chronicles is scheduled to begin airing in early 2008.

See, I think this looks interesting, but I know that I will have to sit through hours and hours of nothing happening and lame constructed issues to keep it going without having any story in there. If they did like a 6 episode miniseries that would have beginning, middle and end I would definitely watch this, but as it stands right now I won’t submit myself.
Isn’t FOX known for cancelling everything that’s not a reality show as well?

Posted by Robert(wolf) on May 21st, 2007Personally I think this show looks absolutely horrible. The thing that interests me the most about it is that there’s a new Arnold-style Terminator. Unfortunately the young female Terminator and apparent horrible choice of actress for the role of Sarah Conner (based on what we see in the trailer) really turn me off to the whole thing. On the bright side, if it’s bad enough it may give me a new appreciation for the third film the same way that Alien Resurrection turning out to be a piece of shit made me like Alien 3 more.
