New To Theatres This Weekend – May 18, 2007
Well if you thought Spider-Man 3 was an intimidating presence at the box office, you only need to take a look at this week’s release list to realize that Shrek The Third is an even bigger threat. There are no other major releases this weekend, and the few smaller movies that are opening in select theatres are extremely select. But I guess when a movie is playing in over 4000 theatres across North America (!) that doesn’t leave room for much else. Will Shrek challenge Spider-Man 3 for the opening weekend record? Or will it fizzle and perform below expectations?

Well it only has 5 days before Pirates comes out, right? Shrek isn’t being released here untill August 31st or so, probably for that reason.
Either way, nothing fun comes out before Fantastic Four it seems. I would like to see Mr. Brooks but that’s pushed till the end of the summer here as well.
