Premiere Date and Promo Teaser for HBO’s John From Cincinnati

A few months back I posted about one of the new original shows that HBO has waiting in the wings to replace The Sopranos when its final season comes to an end. Now it looks like we have a premiere date set for John From Cincinnati, the new series from Deadwood creator David Milch. The evening of June 10th is when they will air The Sopranos season finale, followed by the first episode of John at 10 pm (after that it will move to the weekly 9 pm slot). What’s the show about? A surfing family that can levitate… or something like that. The series stars Bruce Greenwood, Rebecca De Mornay, Luis Guzman, Ed O’Neill and Luke Perry, among others. Check out a short promo for the show, embedded below. It doesn’t show much, but I have to admit, I am intrigued.

  1. Al Bundy is in this show!? Sweet.

Bruce Greenwood is pretty excellent though, it’s a shame he’s doing stuff about levitating surfers with Luke Perry, but I guess it’s steady work…

  2. yes, for me as well, Ed O’Neill is the selling point for me on this show. I’ve always thought he was immensely talented, but would forever be thought of as Al Bundy and not get the chance he truly deserved.
