Alright Whedon worshippers, here is the information you’ve been craving… full details on the upcoming Serenity: Collector’s Edition DVD! On August 21st you can finally feel justified in buying a second copy of the film (or third, if you have the HD-DVD as well), and in doing so help make up for the many people who opted not to see this little ditty back when it was in theatres. Here is a rundown of the bonus features that will be included on this new two-disc set:

Most of these extras have been swiped from the Australian release of the film, although the one major addition is the cast/crew group commentary track. Retail price will be a reasonable $26.98 US… I have to admit it’s tempting, I just really wish they could have released this on HD-DVD as well. Maybe I’ll hang around outside my local Best Buy on the release date in the hopes that some hardcore Browncoats buy a few stacks of extra copies and give them away to strangers in the parking lot.
