I grew up completely fascinated with space travel and astronauts, but like many people, I lost interest as NASA grew increasingly stingy with their manned space programs in the wake of the Challenger (and later, the Columbia) disaster. Recently, with people like James Cameron calling for space exploration to become a priority again, NASA has unveiled plans for a whole new program dedicated to bringing man back to the moon and eventually Mars as well. Some people will clearly argue that this is a huge waste of money, what with the multitude of problems we still have to deal with here on Earth, but you have to admit that space travel is a pretty compelling and amazing human endeavour. NASA recently put together a promotional trailer for this new space program and it’s both awesome and hilarious. The Battlestar Galactica-esque music and Hollywood style editing send a clear message: outer space is cool again. So yes, even though this isn’t a trailer for a real movie, it sure feels like one, don’t it?
