Luke and Andrew Wilson’s The Wendell Baker Story Trailer #2
I’m not sure why we haven’t been hearing more about the upcoming movie The Wendell Baker Story; not only does it star Owen and Luke Wilson, but it also marks the directorial debut for Luke and their oldest brother Andrew. I suppose it’s mainly because it’s a small indie flick, but now it has been picked up by THINKFilm for a small theatrical run this month, and they’ve released a new trailer for the movie. Wendell Baker is a ex-con who, upon receiving parole, gets a job at a retirement hotel and goes on a quest to win his old girlfriend back. The cast includes Eva Mendes, Eddie Griffin, Kris Kristofferson and yes, of course, Will Ferrell (watch for his sucker punch in the trailer… CLASSIC). Unfortunately, like his last movie Idiocracy, it looks like this movie is going to get screwed with a very limited theatrical release. Is it just a coincidence or is Luke Wilson cursed? I’m guessing most of us will have to wait for the DVD release to see it unfortunately. The Wendell Baker Story hits theatres in New York, L.A., Austin and Dallas on May 18th. Check out the new trailer below.

I saw this over a year ago. It’s been on the shelf for so long because it’s not a good movie.
Posted by JJ on May 10th, 2007Luke Wilson’s last movie was Vacancy, which I thought was a tight little horror flick.

JJ: I guess I’m not that surprised. After all the uproar over Idiocracy getting the shaft, I ended up thinking it was pretty weak too.
Posted by Sean on May 10th, 2007I haven’t seen it but the trailer didn’t look particularly appealing.
Posted by Marina on May 10th, 2007anything with the Wilson brothers in it will be great.
